Roz & Roger Saggers
Passionate about plants!
Roger has always loved plants and has been involved in horticulture
since his early 20's. After working for a landscaping firm for a
few years, he left to work for himself, landscaping and maintaining
private gardens, while growing and propagating plants to sell in
his spare time. Roz has also always been interested in horticulture
and has studied floristry and horticulture with the Royal Horticultural
Society, Capel Manor College and Cambridgeshire Farm College.
The Garden
What you can expect to find
With a brick wall to one side and a flint one to the other, our
garden slopes gently down to a stream, which flows into the River
Cam. This part of the garden comprises wide beds of unusual herbaceous
plants. Elsewhere, brick edged beds display pots of shrubs, herbaceous
plants, climbers and roses. Smaller plants such as alpines and herbs
are displayed on raised benches.
The Business Today
Topiary hire, floristry and the nursery
The business continues to diversify as customers needs; these days
far fewer bare root trees and roses are sold - customers are more
likely to want nearly fully grown trees and shrubs to give instant
maturity to a new garden. The hire side of the business continues
to grow, with statues, topiary and water features in demand for
weddings and parties throughout the summer.
