Terms & Conditions

Please ensure you read our terms and conditions fully before making a purchase from Opus Designs.

1. Cracking In The Wood

The surface of our tables are made from solid wood pieces and whilst cracking is uncommon you should expect that the wood acclimatises to different room temperate and indoor conditions to naturally breathe.

As such, contracting or expanding of the tables will likely occur at different times of year. New tables may develop these cracks at the ends and along the pieces as they adapt.

If you notice cracks in the wood and are unhappy then Opus Designs will work with you to restore it after the acclimatisation period has finished (which depends on the time of year).

2. Natural Features

All our timber is selected for its natural beauty so bespoke features like knots, streaks and other authentic features should be expected. These features will be left in their natural state unless you order a specific bespoke table and discuss requirements before placing an order.

3. Overall Table Width

As with all wooden product, the live-edge of our tables undulate the finished table width in a live edge table top may be +/-5% of the specified width at the time of order. Over time, the oak may also shrink slightly (up to 5%) across the grain, or width, of the table so please consider this when you spec up your order.

4. Gaps in Boards

The movement in wooden boards due to the change in seasons may result in some gaps developing between the boards. The table will still maintain 100% of its strength and integrity.

5. Differences in Colour

Because we use 100% natural wood, differences in the colour of a board and between boards should expected. We select timbers from the similar trees to minimise variation.

6. Colour Matching to Existing Furniture

Because of the individual nature of each table, we are unable to offer exact colour matching in the finish of the table to an existing piece of furniture. We are happy to use a particular finish that we don’t offer as standard, just ask at the time of ordering for details.

7. Staining and Marking

The wood finish we use provides a level of protection against staining and marking, but even with the upmost care tables can mark and stain. We advise using placemats and coasters 100% of the time to avoid this issue. If your table is accidentally marked or damaged do let us know and we can try to help you, but it is not the responsibility of Opus Design to resolve this.

8. Glass Specification

All glass supplied with our resin based tables are 6mm reinforced to European safety standard in order to prevent shattering. Therefore, the table is able to support a reasonable amount of weight from common indoor living room items, but extra care should be taken when removing or moving the glass as the edges can chip. Note that due to the nature of these tables and the development process, replacement glass cannot be provided so please take upmost care with them.

9. GDPR

As of 25th May 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the existing 1995 EU Data Protection Directive (European Directive 95/46/EC). Opus Designs is fully compliant with new GDPR legislation ensuring that all of our customers data is kept safe and not shared.
